Being Trickies when we go to Italy we look for the Garibaldi Statue, having found the statue in Venice we wandered around for a while.

Came across a few odd things:

We decides to get una tazza di caffe, we sat to drink our coffee and eat a biscuit. As in all cities a collection of birds large and small were waiting for unsuspecting tourists such as myself.
I opened the packet of biscuits took one out and started to eat. All of a sudden I was under attack, at first I thought I had angered a Venetian but no, it was nothing more than a brazen pigeon.
At first it tried to take a biscuit from the packet in my left hand. Quick as a flash I repelled the beast with a straight right, like a heavy weight boxer who had just had his chin tested the pigeon recoiled five feet. Like all good heavy weights, Birdy was not done, with the speed of a bantam weight the pigeon struck again only to be sent sprawling by a right hook, down but not out our brave little fowl countered once more................... This time striking with speed and precision taking the Custard Cream off the top of the open packet. Do you think my girlfriend came to my aide? No she fell about laughing, whilst I was traumatised all she could do was giggle............

Dejected and beaten I trudged my way back to our hotel cursing this waterlogged island and wishing this nightmare trip would end....

Venice

Venice! a beautiful floating (or should I say sinking) city. A place everyone should visit at least once in their lives. Fantastic architecture, a gondola ride, piazza's to sit and watch Italians go about their daily lives.

World famous landmarks such as the Bridge of Sighs, San Marco Square, The Basilica and The Rialto Bridge, you can marvel at all of these sights without fear of being run over by a car. We travelled the length and breadth of the island and found only two cars.

A work of art or an eyesore?

On an Island with no roads, why?
